As Einstein said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” The aim of education is to develop both mind and soul of an individual as a better human being, who is honest, responsible and thoughtful so that he can contribute to build a harmonious society. Learning is a process of modification of behavior. Through education, character and behavior of an individual is formed and modified. Guru Nanak Dev University is persistently heading towards fulfilling the ultimate aim of illuminating and enlightening the prevailing darkness with lamp of learning.

This is what we offer at Guru Gobind Singh University College, Jandiala Manjki (Jalandhar) which was started as a constituent college of the University in 2021. Geographically, Jandiala (Manjki) village is centrally located in the Doaba region of Punjab. Chandigarh- Phagwara-Nakodar-Ferozpur highway touches this village. National Highway (NH-1) is 11 KMs away from this college. Students belong to different areas can easily approach to the college by public/private transport facility. This land is known as a land of great freedom fighters & progressive thinkers. This area is also known as hub of Non Resident Indians who achieved success on foreign lands in different fields.

It is worth to mention here that this college was established in 1967 in the name of the Tenth Guru Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (Guru Gobind Singh Republic College, Jandiala) as a privately managed affiliated government aided college, with an aim to provide quality higher education to the young boys and girls of this area and to develop their overall personality. In 1983, College was handed over to Government of Punjab. With the efforts of prominent residents of this area, the institution was handed over to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in the Year 2021. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Syndicate of University decided to admit students in the courses of B.C.A, B.A. Humanities, Diploma in Computer Application and Diploma in Cosmetology (Beauty culture) during the year 2021- 2022. A prestigious course Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (B.P.E.S) also started in this College keeping in view the interest of the students in Sports. From the session (2022-2023) B.Com., B.Sc. (Economics) and Diploma in Professional Accountancy are introduced.

To improve the infrastructure and facilities for the students Non- Resident Indians and former students of this area took the responsibility for renovating the existing infrastructure of the College. Lok Bhalai Manch, Jandiala an NGO and Gram Panchayat also played a vital role to complete this Hercules work. To encourage students to get higher education, a group of NRIs and former students decided to bear the burden of fees and funds for 50 needy students belonging to the General Category to get admission to this college. As students belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories already benefited from the schemes of Post Matric Scholarship Scheme run by the Centre/Govt. of Punjab.

Coming to the support services in the college, these are sufficient, more are being added and upgraded by the University keeping in view students' interests. Which includes the Classrooms, Computer Labs, Seminar Hall etc. Wi-Fi facilities and modern teaching aids like multimedia projectors are available to complement the teaching-learning programs. The installation of CCTV is in progress.

The College library has a valuable collection of text and reference books, a variety of newspapers, national and international magazines along with professional journals. Since this institution was established in 1967, some rare books are also available in the library.
